While, in principle, there is never a bad time for sex, discretion dictates that one should refrain from sexual activity during some activities common in everyday life. Examples could include refraining from sex while going to church, abstaining while at a parent-teacher conference, and avoiding sexual activity while driving. Out of all of these example, the latter can prove to be the most dangerous. Nonetheless, a surprising 15% of respondents in a recent international study admitted to engaging in a sexual act while driving a vehicle. 1800 drivers from five countries including the United States were interviewed for this study.
More common was eating while driving — 75% admitted to being guilty to this offense. 28% confessed to texting while driving, and 20% of women do their hair or make-up while driving. The study was conducted by the Danish headset maker Jabra, and it appears their goal was to show that texting or talking on a hand held device was more dangerous than using a headset. Surely they were surprised at the number of us who have the dexterity to have sex while driving which is a phenomenon for which a headset can’t be a substitute.
Good news for fans of casual sex — the University of Minnesota recently released a report which quantified that those who’s last sexual encounter was casual in nature are not more prone to suffer adverse psychological conditions. The study was overseen by Dr. Marla Eisenberg of UM’s medical school, and it looked at a universe of just over 1300 young adults who are sexually active. This group was divided into approximately 575 males and 725 females. This disparity was not explained, but one can assume male researchers preferred to select females in order to query about their sexual dalliances.
Out of the respondents, 55% indicated that their last encounter was with a partner in a serious dating relationship, 25% were last with a spouse or fiance and the remaining 30% last got naked within the context of a casual hook-up. It was no shocker that twice as many males reported that their last fuck was of the random variety as compared to their female counterparts. After reviewing the psychological history of all participants in the study for several years after their sexual habits were quantified, the study was able to definitively show that those prone to engage in casual sex had equal — and in many cases superior — mental health compared to the monogamous subsets. True, STD’s are always a risk — but it now appears that your peace of mind is not put at risk by random sex.
Prior to the advent of mobile technology, it was kinda unwieldy when resting your laptop on her back while doing it doggy-style. However, the miniaturization of technology now allows for texting while driving, conducting trains, performing surgery — and having sex. As published in Adage, a survey conducted by Retrevo Gadgetology indicates that 10% of respondents under the age of 25 indicate that they see nothing wrong with texting while fucking. When it comes to texting while taking a piss, 24% of those under 25 approve. Even less respect for the sanctity of a business meeting is displayed — 49% will divert attention to their cell within this scenario. Hopefully, pissing during a business meeting does not become the next development within our increasingly multi-tasking world.
It appears that respect for the sacrosanct acts of sucking and fucking is found more as people age — only 6% of over-25′s see texting while having sex as appropriate. Only 17% of the older demographic viewed texting during a business meeting as being okay, and only 12% attempt to mix texting and pissing. In a testament to the strength of young bladders, a whopping 76% of those under 25 check for texts before getting out of bed for their morning piss. Possibly, having grown up with the technology, the younger demographic simply has greater physical dexterity allowing for seamless mixing of texting with these various activities.
