The Full Story:

The tagline of this site is “sexy personals for passionate singles.” I am not going to say that this sums up the site completely, but it is still an accurate statement with regard to the site’s positioning. Passion.com has at least 30 million members (and counting), and if reviews are to be believed, over 125,000 members are logged on at Passion.com at any given time. This site is for singles (sexy or not) in search of steamy encounters; however, if all you want is platonic friendship, then that’s also possible.

In this day and age of a thousand “adult dating” sites showing pictures of their members in all their naked glory, I have always been impressed by sites that are more suggestive than bluntly pornographic, and Passion.com is one such site.

Among the first things that impressed me before I became a member was the site’s “classy” look and presentation. The majority of the pictures are on the coy side, and while this is something I personally appreciate, it is understandable that some people would be confused by it, since Passion.com is definitely an “adult” matchmaking service.

The site’s service is offered in 10 different languages, and it’s very easy to change it to another language: just click a button. The languages available include Filipino, Korean, Dutch, Italian, Chinese, and German. This really gives the site an edge over those of its competitors (most of them) whose webmasters/managers are under the illusion that everybody on this planet knows how to speak English.

Interested in becoming a member? Here are the costs: $19.95 for one month, $35.95 for 3 months, and $99.95 for a year. I do not know about you, but I like freebies, so what can you do on the site with a free membership? The following user features are free: posting a profile, doing a basic search, browsing through profiles, sending instant messages, chatting, replying to emails, saving to hotlist, and answering questions on Passion.com’s online magazine.

Premium membership gives access to all of the following features: advance search capabilities, seeing ICQ/AIM/MSN IDs of members in particular networks, makes your profile show up at the top in search listings, gives you priority in email/tech support, allows full “Cupid” email for new people, and supplies personalized list of suggested members.

Profiles have considerable depth, including sections for details of an individual’s aspirations, lifestyle, hobbies, and “hotter” stuff like fantasies or sexual preferences. The site even has a personality test.

The site has a number of ways for you to reach out to fellow members. I tried them all: chat rooms, webcam, instant messaging. At any time of the day, the chat rooms are packed. There are about 30 rooms, organized thematically. For an extra payment, you can have live 1 on 1 phone conversations with fellow members. The beauty of such phonecalls is that they are totally anonymous–you do not need to give out your home number. Moreover, there are no long distance costs as with regular phone services.

For me, the site seems to have a lot going for it. Firstly, it can boast the largest client base in the industry. Secondly (for the women) there are more male profiles on Passion.com than profiles of female members. Thirdly, there are quite a number of relationship types catered for, unlike other sites I’ve seen which do not have sections for members of the LGBT community. The classifications include: gay, lesbian, straight, group, bi-curious, bisexual, and heterosexual. In terms of “sought-for activity” categories, Passion.com has erotic chat, intimate relationship, discreet relationship, 1 on 1 sex, cross dressing, exhibitionism, and voyeurism, just to name a few. It’s good to see that the site caters to members with varied and exotic tastes.

The site’s Customer Support is available 24/7. For straight guys, one downside to getting membership in Passion.com is that there are more male than female profiles. However, this is a feature that is theoretically dynamic. It is the case today, but months from now, who knows? It might be the women who’ll be have the harder time finding playmates.
